God I could yap about the whole storyline I have planned for my self-insert and him, I've spent soooo long thinking up ideas... TLDR; we knew eachother in college (both taking biology-adjacent courses), were pining over eachother but never talked, lowkey forgot about eachother but romance felt wrong, then we re-met eachother on the boat/ship with stratt's petrova task-force and FINALLY remembered eachother and talked, bing bang boom started a relationship that was going very very well and whoopsies! now we're both forced to go to space (ryland was forced to go, he said something like "i can't go because i have a purpose here now i got someone to love" so stratt's like "okay all good we'll just bring ari with you"), then we're up in space and re-re-forget eachother and eventually re-re-re-remember eachother because ryland finds a wedding ring that stratt packed (of which he bought on earth to propose to me with) and that caused the memories and such

so now we live together on erid hooray yippee awfully angsty story ends happily in the distant future and we have an eridian marriage

when i tell you guys this movie found me in desperate times,, i may actually be like utterly devoted to this character because he quite literally saved my Life and i know how crazy that sounds perchance i'll take it more seriously when it's not 40 minutes to midnight lmao
